Teakettle Junction to Hwy 190

Can anyone tell me how the road is from Teakettle Junction,through hidden Valley and over Hunter Mountain to Highway 190 (and Panamint Springs). Can it be done in only a couple hours by a standard jeep?
Is Lippencott road as hairy as I have read. I will be taking a kid with me next week and don't really want to have to change his underwear ... or mine for that matter! Looking for a nice, cruising backroad.
Appreciate any help or info.
