a small portable solar cooker may suffice for your needs. north death valley/mesquite is a great choice.. if you have a car and time, check out armagosa valley, beatty, race track ubehebe crater, panamint valley, and the owens valley/high sierras all within 4 hrs of each other..have a wonderful time in Inyo, d-sled
