I'm sure most of you know this, or should. Ft Irwin is an ACTIVE training post. It's an NTC, National Training Center. Troops from all over the U.S. are rotated in for desert training. They do fire some live {i.e. HE rounds} The last time I had the pleasure of flying around post with my brother, he's a civilian pilot there, he had to check with the range masters to see where he could fly. Even dummy rounds or inert rounds traveling thru an air craft is an unly, ugly thing. Same go for anyone on the ground who is in close proximity to the impact area. Ugly, Ugly. Don't be mistaken for a burro by some 20 year old cannon cocker who wants a moving target to sharpen his skills on. Later, Castle
