There are probably some superb beers out there at a price. But, as a practical matter, Carta Blanca and Tecate are the best solutions to the beer drinker's dilemma: price versus quality. Bohemia should be the connoisseur's choice, but in Baja, with its eighteen foot shoulderless highways Bohemia's high alcohol content makes it an unwise choice when drinking and driving. And, of course, the same concerns with safety and enjoyment apply in the desert. One of life's great mysteries is that people will drink Corona (a beer made from sugar cane) when the above mention beverages are readily available.
