I think you are right. We heard another heat-related call go over the scanner yesterday at El Mirage dry lake...don't know the resolution of that one.But when SBCO fire was called, CPR was in progress.
Does this seem like a worse year than in the past? I don't recall this many deaths in one year.
I was out and about in Afton Canyon a couple of days ago shooting dragonflies. Only way to stay cool, and get anywhere close to the critters, was to stand in the what is left of the river. VERY low this year. And bathtub-warm water. It was like standing in the primordial ooze. Positively yukky but cooler than on land.
If I am ever really truly stuck and running out of water, I'll set my car on fire. That should make a big enough black plume of smoke to get some attention.
