Ed Don't know the right response other than to say i've been coming to dv for over a decade and I mostly come solo, which is breaking rule #1. I come prepared always! I've always loved to check out mines but I keep a cautious foot forward. I live in Santa Cruz where we have a number of deep caves (should be called tunnels in a lot of areas where you wiggle down with a rope so you can pull yourself back up) I try and so far have succeeded in not getting myself in trouble. I understand the warnings given by others but curiousity which did kill the cat keeps driving me on. It's the Explorer bug I guess. Reading my first posting about devices, you would have read that I limit myself to line of sight on some but there are multilevels where you have to take the risk and inspect the structure as you go. I am just looking for back up on my fifth sense. Along with the adventure i've found my most exciting find to be a time capsell in the $&%@*!that I check on from time to time. Anyway I was just trying to stack the deck a little more in my favor. Advice and warnings are all helpful, because they all give information of one kind or another. Meet ya on the trail some day i'm sure.
