Memorial day vacation, Drove eight hours on thursday morning, took 2 extra days off to be sure and get a place to stay. came by myself like I mostly do. Being that I go alone, I always expect to share dwellings once i'm there.(people show up and by yourself or with a friend that sometimes comes along we welcome others). Last time I was there shared cabin with grandpa and his grand daughter using extra bunks, plus 2 marines that camped on lawn.(Loved that fifty calibor that grandpa had). Got to bottom of south park canyon at sunset and found a huge sign stating (friends coming up this week-end so cabins will be filled. this was on thursday evening. I thought it was first come and enjoy. Not send a scout to hold cabins for two days till the rest arrives. Didn't bother going up and went up pleasant canyon and made the loop the next day and sure enough there was one vehicle holding the place till friends arrived a day later. I thought it was first come first stay. Not send a scout to hold the cabins till the week-end when their friends arrive. Maybe i'm wrong, and maybe there are those that think courtesy doesn't matter. that's right I could have just gone up and said i'm taking the empty cabin, but them my holiday would have been spent with hostile neibors. I moved on. I also ran into others in pleasant canyon that week-end that had the same thoughts. I can't believe that in the past you made it with the hum-vee across the bridge. Good job. I don't know who the folks reserving the cabins were, but I don't think there's a good excuse. But i'm sure they will post an evaluating, research reason.
