Feeble. Your argument is weak. You are figuring on a fixed measurment ie. 500' or 1000' rivers rarley comply with fixed boundries such as those. 10000 cfs is not unheared of during flash floods. Piru creek in Southern California peaked at around 35000 cfs a few years ago and this is a stream that is lucky to see 100 cfs during the winter. Depth and width have nothing to do with it nor speed.
