Saline to Racetrack Report

Spent the weekend in Saline, doing my thing "solo" because my lame-excuse friends were too busy or too something to come with me. On Sunday morning, decided to head for Racetrack via the Lippincott Mine road. This probably wasn't the smartest decision in my life because I was in what is essentially a street version Tahoe with those damn running boards and tires that barely qualify as all-terrain. But if I was so smart, I wouldn't have headed to the desert alone, right?
Lippincott Mine Road had, under the circumstances, a "pucker factor" of 11.5 on the 1 to 10 scale. But the good news is that I didn't shred any tires, didn't go over the side, and only broke traction a couple of times. Vehicles with a narrower wheel base and are actually set up for the desert shouldn't have any problem. But that route is definitely much easier to go down than up, and don't even think about it in the dark.
All other roads were in great shape, with the usual wash-board in the usual places. See my other post about Hunter Mt; the maps lie!
