Alan, you did it all wrong my friend. When I check in panamint resort I tell jerry or whoever is working to make sure the beer is cold, and call when the spot or room is available. Iam a dirt camper and do not require a microwave and satelite hook-up so I get my spot with no problems. I like to sit in a lawn chair and watch bats fly around the sign and catcus. Jerry or one of his helpers will walk across the street or wave you over when the room or spot is open.If you fell in behind a crowd in line, that is the luck of the draw on a tourist weekend. His employees stayed up all night helping the badwater ultra marathon runners. Many in our group did not spend a dime and were fed and left rested, with a cup of coffee.Your motorhome and problems with the generator are not the fault of the resort. You may want to test it before you leave the rental lot. As for the house generator, parts come form hundreds of miles away and break downs occur in all machinery. In a remote resort, that is the luck of the draw also. I was once at panamint resort when the power was out and we sat on the patio with sierra nevada pale ale by candlelight. I thought it was planned that way! what a great night. Thanks to jerry for hosting a great sight. Scott in Long beach
