I have just returned from Furnace Creek CampGround (3/18). When we arrived 2 weeks ago; we were unable to obtain a site as all were reserved. We then camped at Texas Spring Campground a mile south and obtained a site at Furnace Creek 3 days later for a week. FurnaceCreek Campground costs $16/night, in addition to individual sites, it has two group sites (relocated from upper Texas Spring Campground). These are for tents only, and probably require reservations. Furnace Creek Campground is a 15 minute walk from Visitor Center, stores, etc. Furnace Creek allows generator use 7 am to 7 pm. Texas Spring lower camp is for tents only, its upper camp is for RV and tents. No generator useage. It costs $12. A third campground across the street from Visitors Center is Sunset. It allows generators 7am to 7 pm. However, it is a treeless, bushless LARGE parking area. All three campgrounds have flush toilets, but no showers. The later are available by the adjacent concession at the "ranch". I believe ranger programs, walks, etc stop mid April.
