If you are looking for diesel at a reasonable price, I would certainly plan to make a side trip to Beatty. There is also diesel at Olancha and Trona, but I know of none at Stovepipe.
The trip to Beatty can provide an excuse for stopping at Rhyolite and a trip through Titus Canyon. I always carry 10 gallons of spare fuel just in case.
