When you get a flat tire at johnson ranch site, Listen to the Keystone drinker who tells you that your Compressor is getting hot, melting and making a funny whine. You simply would not put down that macanudo Portifino so with the stogey burning you failed to smell the burning plastic! POP...POW! That poor thing blew up like dynamite!
Forget the Cigarette plug type. Go to 4x4 parts wharehouse and get an under hood mounted Compressor- simple to wire to the Battery...run the hose nipple to the bottom of a bumper, then when you need air, all you do is plug in the hose coupler and hit the toggle switch. same caper that AAA uses on tow trucks. Onboard air is the way to go...but that compressor you melted did make a good target.........
