Well, like I said from the start, I was not trying to initiate a discussion on firearms issues, such as rights, laws or other more political maters. Though such discussions are interesting and important in their place, regardless of the political debate many people do carry and many do not. It is not law that truly influences that decision in most cases at this time. For the most part I just wanted to know if people did carry in Death Valley and if so what they carried. A far less philosophical issue.

As for other threads in this topic, women can shoot as well as men and often come to it easier to men. If you had to shoot a dog to protect ones self, it would be a fine thing to do (so long as you had a gun with which to do it). If you have to shoot a bear, youd better get him dead with the first shot or two, since if you upset him, hed be much more accurate with his claws and teach on you.
