Ok... found out what the heck is going on (I hope)...

Now first, I called a friend at DVNPS HQ and this is what she heard from a ranger out in the field:

First report about Goler is right, but wrong by title.

Warm Springs Rd from DV has had some damage to it. Mostly cuts and some wash outs. How intense - the ranger turned around. I dont know what this means; bad or really bad?

As most of you know, Warm Springs does connect to Goler. One could easily get confused.

Pleasent Canyon: I also heard and confirmed that a vehicle could not get down. They hiked to Ballarat to make a phone call for help.

Also, that email No Name posted today was one I sent out to a handful of individuals via email. I was surprise to see it posted here. I apologize for it being posted here.

Regardles, the Panamints got rain and lots of it in some areas. I have roamed those hills where would not see a single drop, and two canyons over it is getting the hell beat out of it. I think this is the case here.

What I would like is road conditions about the Argus Range... China Lake stated that it took a pounding and this includes their facilities in the Argus Range.

So with that... I hope it helps. I will be out there Saturday and Sunday - so hope to meet a few of you. I will be in a white government truck playing around in Butte Valley...

Joel
