destination, road choices?

So many places so little time and little first hand knowledge of Death valley and area.

A small group of us, 4-5 vehicles, are planning a trip for a long Feb 1st weekend. We enjoy backroad driving on rough roads and overnite camping. We're experinced off-road drivers with capable and reliable rigs and we're self contained campers.

Any road/trail/area suggestions?

Interesting sites, destinations and road suggestions would be appreciated. It seems prudent for us to have a few alternative targetts in mind that can be adjusted based on weather and road conditions. I guess deep snow, flashfloods come to mind. Like I said, not a lot of first hand experince especially this time of year.
