Anyway, I thought that Bodie had some really good points in his lengthy commentary.
I do agree with you about not intentionally violating minor laws. That's why I cave and buy the annual pass, just makes it easier. I did find it interesting that the Ranger who was so bent on giving me a hard time in Saline never asked to see proof of paid admission - to me that shows that paying the fees isn't really on their radar screen at all unless you are on the main tourist trail.
I've run into my share of good cops / rangers / other public servants, just not in DV (yet).
Don't worry, I haven't shot anyone at Panamint Springs and have no plans to start.
