Yeah, agreed. That is an unwritten law of the desert. You stop and ask if someone else is stopped.
I have helped far more people than have helped me. But that is fine with me. I am glad to do it.
Also, it never fails to amaze me how people change on a dirt road. I start waving to people i pass-by when i am in remote areas. I think it is funny that you might wave "hello" to someone in the outback, and the next day, back in the city and on the freeway, you are giving them the finger.
Perhaps, that is a good reason not to wash your truck immediately upon return to the big city.
That way, other outback wanderers will recognize you.
