I was given a set of Earth Visions G-REF software by a buddy of mine who decided to go with TOPO! It covers on several CDs the central third of California, but I use primarily the Yosemite and Kings Canyon disks as they show all topographic quads between the Sierra and the California/Nevada border (maps that are in Nevada but contain even the tiniest fragment inside California are included). They are true USGS topographic maps - even the borders, marks, scales, etcetera are there. Both 1: 24,000 and 1: 100,000 series maps included. Not much in tools, but it has a great measuring device. I've tried other topo software and I prefer Earth Visions. Photo attached of a JPEG file I'm using for illustrating an under construction page on my website.
