There are two trails to drive to the base of the butte. Both are easy and have a fire ring at the end. You have to hike thru a large rock field before you find either of the well marked hiking trails. An average hiker can tag the summit from the fire ring in 70 minutes. It is easy all the way and not steep. The summit ridge is a dragons back and will not have a level place for a tent. It is at least fifteen feet wide but has a 3 foot step in the middle. Soloists can easily find a good spot for a sleeping bag or one of those bivy tents. The ammo can is the true summit. It has a great spot for two folks to camp but not enough room for a two man tent. The winds only bother city folk who should be home watching the discovery channel. Get out there and climb safe!
