I too would recommend Panamint for the view, the staff, the peace and quiet and the service. But forget any T.V.
The rooms are clean but plain. The food tasty and likely more than you are accustomed to receiving in a restaurant.
I've stayed at Stovepipe Wells, and the service was disgraceful. Even before I asked for a room, the person behind the check in counter gave the impression I was a bother, not a customer. From there it went downhill.
Furnace Creek Ranch I found to be the same. I didn't stay there, because of the attitude of the staff.
Sorry I can't comment on the "inn" as that's too rich for my blood.
