I worked at the Warm Springs mine for allmost two years. Every working day we would get a very good breakfast along with a sack lunch. Usually these lunches were so-so but some times very good. The "powder monkey" was in charge of starting up the air compressors and generators in the morning and shutting them down in the afternoon. We had a mama coyote that would come around for lunch and we would throw her a few scrapes. Periodically she would dissapear for some time and then would show up with her new pups bringing them in for a treat. As I said the "powder monkey" would shut down the diesels at the end of day shift and then throw a few more scraps to the coyote and her offspring. Well that day was a day when the lunches were excellent and there were no left overs. Mama coyote wasn't very happy and she jumped up in the jeep and bit the one who had been feeding her. Fortunatly he didn't get rabies, but the coyote had to be destroyed an sent in to Las Vegas to be checked.
