Carol, the ghost story is not there - it's available for $2.50 to buy at Jawbone Station, or up at the ghost town of Cerro Gordo itself. We printed it up as a little booklet with pictures, for a fundraiser for the town, all of the money goes to Cerro Gordo. If you are headed up hwy14 on the way to hwy395 on your way to Death Valley or one of our other favorite places you can stop in Jawbone for clean bathrooms, information, and enjoy their collection of books and maps other than my little booklet.

Cerro Gordo, by the way, is closed to overnight visitors for the winter, this year. Sounds like they have some extended restorations that are easier to attend to with the town closed during the down season. If winter keeps on the way it's started out - the snow may actually keep people from getting up there, anyway. The good news about a harsh winter, if that's what we're going to get, CerroGordo won't have the water shortage they did last year!
