A ways down the board we were discussing the 1908 photo of a decomposing body. I wonder if the news article below is related? (News article is thanks to David A. Wright's work.)

Newton Bare Found "FOUND DEAD." - Sheriff Naylor is in receipt of a letter from his deputy, R.D. Morrison, at Tecopa, informing him of finding the body of Newton Bare, who left Sarta Springs about April 30th to find some horses that had broken loose. Not returning, a searching party started out and found the remains of the unfortunate on May 11th, about 20 miles from Sarta Spring and within 1 miles of the Old Conference mill. The deceased was aged about 35 years. The remains were buried where found as it was impossible to remove them.
