I have never met Cecile, but I have read enough of her posts, both here and over at DUSA, to have the opinion that she is being misjudged. She enjoys the desert, which includes actual visits to it. Often. I bet she loves to share her stories, share her enthusiasm, share a government approved campfire AND volunteer her time with public and private projects in the desert. She has often supplied information on these websites in her effort to keep sharing even if she can't be there. I can't believe how quickly and viciously she was attacked for trying to share. Her website has pages of stories and photos too. That was the reason for her post, not to drum up business, IMHO.
If I post a link to a geocities website featuring a 360-degree panorama of the Virginia City Nevada cemetery, am I guilty of advertising for Virginia City? Geocities? Cemeteries? I'm doing it anyway!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't deathvalley.com chat begun to draw visitors away from another site, due to the sporadic cleansing, and availability of that board? How many people were drawn from there, free of charge? Plus, nobody is jumping her sh#* over there.
All that said, next time I go through the valley, if there is a deathvalley.com donation can around, I'll throw $20 in it.
