I remember that one well. It started up in Nevada. I was in Beatty and when I heard the sirens I turned on my scanner and listened. I remember the Death Valley CHP officer yelling "Shots Fired". The superintendent always referred to that as "Shoot-Out At Mustard Canyon". A few months later the director of the National Park Service came to the park and gave awards to all of the rangers involved. Many were from Lake Mead NRA.
