Desert Dryad--Yes, she 'felt right' and we take the path less traveled when we can. We got married in the old church in Bodie (neither one of us is religious, but it is a cool place) (had to muck it out before we could use it, fortunately we brought a change of clothes), cooked up a river-trip chicken dinner for a reception dinner at Buckeye Hot Springs, went to the Black Rock Desert as a honeymoon [before the yuppies discovered it].
RE: Pathfinder vs. Tacoma: Yes, I am an old Poison-oaker, and I would rather use a PU, but, nowadays, we pack so much shi# . . . cra* . . . er, stuff, we need to enclose it AND pile it on top. Beer cooler always packed first, and accessable. High-lift jack packed last, lashed into the passenger compartment, and the boys know enough by now not to take skin off their feet tripping over it. Try not to forget the damned stove, only done that twice, think I would have learned the first time (some of my pots still have potblack on them).
Location of cabin, if I may ask? . . . If you don't care to tell, that's OK, I keep some of my special locations secret also.
