McNalley Fire Still Smokin'

Left Trona and work @ 6pm this evening. Hazy in Trona and southern Panamint, a definite demarkation of drifting smoke about mid valley as viewed from Slate Range.
As I progressed through Panamint Valley, there were spots of comparatively clear and fairly smoky.
Climbing the grade above Panamint Springs, the sun was a gorgeous red and fairly dim. A sunspot was quite visible by the naked eye (though trying not to look at the sun for more than a flicker due to UV). Views climbing the grade was fairly clear to the south up Darwin Wash country, clear enough to make out land features south toward Etcheron Valley. I could start smelling strong smoke about a mile west of Father Crowley Point turnoff.
Darwin area same - areas of thicker/thinner smoke. Sun set over the Sierra very dim, but gorgeous with Joshua trees silhouetted against it.
At Keeler, the smoke cleared enough to see the Sierra as far north as Birch Mt. and Sugarloaf (both west of Big Pine), and progressively got clearer as I traveled north. I stopped smelling smoke at Independence. Big Pine hazy, but much better than in past weeks.
