Well folks, the weekend is here and Iíll be working in the office instead of going out into the dez! Such a bummer, but ample justification for taking more time off at a later date! Anyhow, after reading Harold Ericssonís post below (Operation Thunderwell - thanks H.E.), I have to ask what is the strangest thing you have found in the desert (hopefully in Death Valley)?

Fact is better than fiction.....(no PegLeg Smith competition here).

Iím sure yaíll have better stories but since I started it, Iíll add mine.

1) Anza Borrego; A dilapidated Toyota Corolla filled with hopped-up (pot??) teenagers looking for the route to Oceanside. Funny, as this was in Arroyo Seco Del Diablo, if you know the area.

2) Blackrock Nevada; A full-scale Mastercard billboard on the Blackrock playa. Wife and I figured must have been leftover from burningman event? It was very obvious and when we went back the next day Ė GONE!

3)Panamint Valley; Full Basket of golf balls setting on the shoulder of the road ( left after changing a flat ??) Took them home and neighbor and I put them to use off of the back deck (yes, we retrieved most of them).

Look forward to your posts ......
Stuck behind the desk,
M-
