The ancient bristlecone pine that was cut down WAS NOT on Telescope Peak; it was on Wheeler Peak in Nevada. There are assuredly old trees on Telescope Peak but probably not much over 2,000 years old. There are also bristlecone on Sentinel Peak (just south of Telescope). LeRoy
