Spelling Lesson and Camp Fires

In college, the correct answer—I can’t remember the question—to one of the multiple choice questions on an examination was: Substitute introspection for obfuscation, thus avoiding circumlocution.
Without beating around the bush, I misspelled “marshmallow.”
P.S.: I too have spent many fine hours around campfires with my two young sons and some of them were spent in Death Valley. A couple years ago my hiking buddy and I took a friend on her first wilderness camping trip and she insisted on a camp fire. Bob and I packed an aluminum tray and a presto log. She had a pleasant memorable experience. We were camped at 12,000—well above timberline.
