Hi from Germany!
Itīs great to find the Death Valley Talk. Iīve been to Death Valley a few times. Itīs really a great place to be. I do have some questions:
1. Iīd like to know why on the Morning Report isnīt the temperature from Badwater?
2. Is the Weather Station at Badwater an official Weather Station?
3. Is there any chance to see the current temperatures on this Website? I mean at the Visitor Center you can see the current temperature so is it possible to put on this site?
4. Does anybody know at which time on July, 10th 1913 they recorded 134F?
5. The Explorerīs Guide to Death Valley NP says: "Badwater: Although a sign here claims this to be the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, that isnīt quite the case. The honor goes to two spots out on the salt flats, both of which are a little lower than Badwater... it is rough in places, but eventually you can reach both of the magical -282 elevetions. No point is marked by a survey monument. Without a topographic map, youīd never know when youīve reached them." Question: is that still correct and if yes, why is it not marked?
6. When thereīs a talk about recorded temperatures at Death Valley does that mean that the temperatures recorded at Furnace Creek? For example on the Site of US Today you can see the highest temperature for each day - so if it says Death Valley is it Furnace Creek or Badwater?
Thatīs all! Any help is fine. Michael
