Deadman Pass

I hope someone out there knows the answer to this. I have searched for years but had not been able to figure this one out. There is a track that runs next to the Deadman Pass road. It is just a few yards south of the road and is very visible for nearly the entire length of the road. The width of the track, center to center, is about 12 feet. Obviously, this track is not an old road - it is much too wide. It may have been made by a single pass of a piece of construction equipment, but it is very visible and has been for many, many years. So whatever made it either made a number of trips or really cut up the terrain on one or two trips. Pure speculation on my part is that it could have been made by a large tracked vehicle such as a crane or a large drilling machine. On the east end of the Deadman Pass road area there are numerous indications of exploration drilling. However, there are no such indications (that I know of) in Greenwater Valley. The only such exploration drilling I know of in the western area was towards Ryan and the Billie Mine. Does anyone know what made this track and when it was made? (And no, it is not from skid marks left by ET's that missed Area 51.)
