Oh yeah, so because his job is soooo dangerous, and so thankless, he has a right to maintain a bad attitude and otherwise intimidate various innocent campers? And if the others' stories are true, this also gives him the right to interpret the law as convenient, and otherwise hassle whomever fits "the profile?"
Isn't he paid to perform the duties you mentioned? Coming into his job, wasn't he aware of the trials and tribulations associated with same? Or was it a case of the highest paid job he could get that had the lowest educational requirements, so he signed right up without thinking of his career path and subsequent isolation from well-adjusted human beings?
Spare us the "poor me" syndrome. There's a reason cops have such a high divorce and suicide rate: they're jerks. The only difference between your *average* cop and your average felon is that the felon got caught without a blue line to hide behind.
Just my not-so humble opinion, based upon my own personal experiences and the stories of my two cop friends, one in Pomona and the other in Roseville.
