In my "road closure log" I show cottonwood canyon as closed for the last 8.3 miles due to horrendous driving conditions. The initial 8.9 miles is still open and accessible, the hiking time I have from this point to the end of the road is 5:30-6:30 hrs, which would require an overnight stay in most cases. The date of this entry is 9.26.01 and as far as I am aware there has been no improvement to the roadway in the past 10 months. Any further info on closures would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
