I believe that the trip that you recently took ranks in the top 5 of the greatest tour / hikes you can make in DV. It is interesting that yesterday I was plotting out my course, for this September (when I will attempt this circut for the 2nd time) which encompassed all the landmarks you mentioned. My notes say that the Cottonwood road is not closed after 8 miles (as of feb 2000 so my info appears out of date) but that it is extremely rough requiring 4 wheel dr. w/ lockers (a winch also). I am truly saddened if they have closed this road from that point. Is there a place to park at the "closure point?. Any updates on any other road closures on the "west side" from you and/or anyone else will be greatly appreciated. I will update my notes. Hope you get those pictures posted soon Dryad! And what type of vehicle are you using?
