Funny, they don't mention a price anywhere. But I imagine that, "...a new 28,420 square foot parking area for 40 cars and 6 buses or RVs...", "... 48,380 square feet of "sidewalks and ramps...", a "...boardwalk [that] would cover 5,040 sq ft of salt pan...", "...the roadway [to] be shifted to the east by about 40 feet" would seem to cost a pretty tax payer dollar. Especially when they are thinking it would need, "About 1,800 to 3,700 dump truck loads of asphalt and aggregate base for the parking lot...", that is a lot of rock and base that is going to have to be hauled in. I don't know about you, but I would much rather have them spend the money widening/repairing some of the paved roads in the park, as I have heard many horror stories of buses just flying down the road (especially near badwater) taking up most of road. Final Thoughts: Let them do what they want, just as long as they leave our backcountry alone and open.
