I was out there last month, and the road conditions were great. No major dips or rocks to negotiate. The road is "washboardy" for a good deal of the 27-mile drive from Ubehebe, but it is well worth it. Based on what I saw then, you should be fine. Just take your time getting there - let those Racetrack Valley speed racers pass you by because there'll be some good shots on the way. Make sure you have a spare tire or two, and bring LOTS of water.
The Racetrack was beautiful then as it is any time of the year. A full moon makes it even better for night shots, but it looks like that won't happen again until the 26th. Enjoy!!!
