Drove through Panamint Valley on my way to my home in the Ownens Valley from my job in Trona last weekend and watched the shark transform. In all those years I've traveled this way regularly, I never noticed how the coloring in this section takes on these shapes. At one point, the white area below the "shark" appears to be another fish swimming along with (or trying to avoid) the "shark." You photo was taken a while back ... Inyo County has repaved that section of the Trona-Wildrose Road.
