Warm Springs posted by Fran on May 01, 2002 at 20:07:26: According to the Topo! brand CD-ROMs, the coordinates are: Turnoff for springs: 36.78445 deg N, 117.88367 deg W Lower Warm Spring: 36.80577 deg N, 117.77261 deg W According to the program, these are in "NAD 83 / WGS 84" datum. (Which I find slightly odd, since aren't those two different datums? Must not be any significant difference between them.) I'd second the notion that a good atlas with GPS grid is really useful. Sorry that I don't have it handy to read off the coordinates, but I have the "California Road and Recreation Atlas" (shows the whole state, I think it's published by an outfit called Compass Maps?...), and it's got good GPS grids. (It's not the De Lorme atlas, although that one's good too, and one can also get GPS coords from it.) I found the turnoff for the springs using this atlas and a Garmin GPS II. Saved me much hassle. Have a good trip!
