Nobby I would like to suggest that you enter Black Canyon from the north end via Cedar Canyon. The entrance to Cedar Canyon is between Kelso and Cima. One of the attractions in the Black Canyon area is the Mid-Hills Camp Ground. In Mid-Hills you are among a very large juniper forest. Near Hole-in-the-Wall is Mitchell Caverns. The caverns are worth a visit and you can stay in your RV on the RV campground near the caves and on the side of the Providence Mountains which provides a spectacular view of the surrounding desert. You'll find signs along the roads giving directions to the above areas. I once met a German fellow and his wife in a rig much like yours at Mid-Hills, he was traveling ONLY on dirt roads with the occasional crossing of a paved road. He had a well-delineated map of dirt roads to help him in his adventure. I assume you have a good map. DeLorme's Southern California Atlas & Gazetteer would be a good investment for you, cost is around $20, I believe. Birdman
