Hey, Steve, I am the navigator for our scouting trips! I don't use the GPS in the Forerunner, bug can read a map. The first GPS that we had seemed relatively useless to me. While Roger and friend were trying to program the darned GPS, I figured out exactly what road we were on by using the maps.
However, the newer models are quite nice, even I have to agree. When trying to pinpoint the exact spot of a mine, or a cave, or even a road, it's nice to have those GPS coordinates in addition to the maps.
