Where I come from, a Road Maggot is one of the Winnabagoes taking their half of the road out of the middle, drifting along on 1/4 Impulse Power when everyone else is on Warp Drive. I thought Road Maggot was a universal reference. My bad and my humble appologies. The old Geiger Grade starts in Bridgeport and comes down into town in front of the old Methodist church, and is closed by snow until June or so during a normal year. Last week I spent the week in the East Walker canyon, and it looked like the old Geiger Grade was still closed. If you use it carry tire patch and pump, sharp rocks (volcanics, including volcanic glass in places). The RiverRat herein speaks from experience, it is a long lonely walk back to Bridgeport.
