Randy brings up the main issue, people who go with 2WD or with inexperience tear up the trails with wheelspin or move rocks around to smooth things out.
Those of us who go carefully in 4WD usually end up having to help the above types. I am not ashamed to say I went over Steele Pass to the Eureka dunes in 4WD low carrying extra water, extra food, tow cables, jack, detailed maps, tire repair etc. and I told someone my route and when I would return. We had fun and no trouble.
What would you do in your modern Japanese SUV if the "check engine" light came on at the top of the falls in Dedecker Canyon?
