If you are referring to the route used by Manly and Rogers on their hike to San Francisquito Rancho to rescue the Bennet-Arcane party, LeRoy and Jean Johnson have authored "Escape From Death Valley", available at many bookstores. They have hiked the route many times using Manly's journal, confirming landmarks along the way.
It is the definitive work on this route.
