The Harry Wade Road is graded and well maintained up to and including the Owl Hole Springs Road, as this is AT&T's service road to the radio tower at the end of the road.

Continuing north on the Harry Wade Road beyond the Owl Hole Spring Road you'll find pockets of deep sand and a few minor washout ruts, and the possible river crossing.

The crossing of the Amargosa River is dry most times of the year, and usually wet only following rains or during a particularly rainy season. This is not a good year for rain, and although I have no first hand information, I do not believe there will be any water to cross at this time.

Your Explorer will have no clearance or traction trouble at all, barring a flat tire, of course.
