I prefer views from the mid to southern portions of DV because the Panamints make a spectacular backdrop (well..."foredrop" actually) to DV sunsets, but the Hell's Gate/Death Valley Buttes area offers among the best overall views of sunsets and the valley in general. You can also try Badwater, Chloride Cliff, or even that little "gazeebo" on the hill next to the Furnace Creek Inn ;-) Spend a few nights to catch the sunset from different locations in the park. With just the right amount of high clouds hanging over the Panamints and DV's other western ranges you will be assured of some spectacular views. I grabbed some sunset pics from Texas Springs a few months back -- they're not bad at all, but don't do the real thing justice. I'll try to get these up on my web site for you in the next day or so. I'll post a link then. Regards,
