My father told me that in the late 60’s early 70’s he and a friend drove a 1968 Volkswagen bug up to Panamint City. And now look at me, I have to turn it into a damn weekend back packing trip just to see the same sights he was able to see and enjoy the same area he was able to. Sure, I would not be able to just take a nice drive up there since the road was washed out some time back, but I could have made it with a nice 4x4. But now back to a pack, my knee problems and my own 2 feet. For what? A weed they call a flower? A lizard? A fly? How much is enough? Will the greenies ever be happy with all the land they have taken away from us? Our so called “public land” that we can not even drive onto! What is this world coming to?
