Fran,

Fortunately, the logbook was returned with the tireless work from a visitor from Riverside who's name regretably escapes me. He made several calls and wrote many letters to the BLM on our behalf. Ultimately the book was returned to him by the BLM, he in turn returned it to the cabin.

I just remembered........ Ken Dochier, My Hero! I haven't seen his name in any of he Logbooks for quite some time

Anyway, it has started to deteriorate and has been taped, wired and glued together. However, it is safe and sound up at the Briggs cabin for all to enjoy. We got only one photo of our "first crossing" back. It is also on the inside wall of the cabin.

The blueprints and several other photos were never returned by the BLM engineers that took them to copy. We have a photo album with dozens of pictures we took from a fixed position at 30 minute intervals throughout the building process. It documents the construction and assembly of the bridge over the 2.5 days it took to build. However, it is not in the cabin, and is only available by "appointment"!

Thanks for the interest.
