Steele Pass is fun, but it is not any place for a rental - we went into Saline Valley one time with a friend in a rental Jeep - the Jeep only had a minimal spare, thirty miles an hour for thirty miles - if you needed this in Steele Pass you could be dead after it shredded!
Please only use Steele Pass with solid vehicles, and in company with others.
